JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA

Composed of hyaluronic acid—a substance found naturally within the body—JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA XC works to instantaneously add fullness to the lips. Due to the softer, smoother makeup of the filler’s solution, the effects of treatment tend to be more subtle, helping to improve volume without creating an overly augmented appearance. In addition to lip enhancement, JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA XC can also be administered to diminish lines around the mouth (perioral rhytids) that contribute to an “aged” look. For both applications, clinical studies show that results can last at least a year for most individuals, making JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA XC the longest-lasting injectable filler of its kind.

The JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA XC Procedure

Because hyaluronic acid occurs naturally throughout the body, there is no allergy testing necessary before treatment. During the JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA XC procedure, a specialized instrument called the Dermasculpt® Microcannula is used by Dr. Stafford R. Broumand to inject the filler solution into targeted areas of the lips and/or perioral region. While any discomfort is typically rare during the injection process due to our doctor’s meticulous technique, a unique anesthetic known as lidocaine is present within the JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA XC formula to further facilitate patient comfort. Based on the quantity of areas and extent of aesthetic concerns being addressed, the entire treatment can usually be completed in as quickly as 30 minutes, enabling many individuals to receive JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA XC on their lunch break.

Recovery After JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA XC

Directly following treatment, there may be some initial swelling and/or bruising in the targeted areas, though these symptoms should resolve swiftly and are often limited due to the careful approach employed by our doctor. The majority of individuals look and feel well enough to resume normal daily routines—such as desk jobs, running errands, etc.—as soon as they leave our office, but more strenuous activities like heavy lifting and vigorous exercise should be limited for a minimum of 24 hours. Results from JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA XC are generally apparent right away and have shown to last through one year in clinical studies. To maintain an optimal outcome, retreatment might be recommended once the effects start to fade.
