Xeomin® is rapidly gaining popularity as an effective injectable treatment to temporarily reduce the appearance of crow’s feet, fine lines, and other signs of aging on the face. Similar to BOTOX® Cosmetic, Xeomin® is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and can work to give you a more youthful, refreshed appearance. Dr. Stafford Broumand, our board-certified plastic surgeon, administers Xeomin® injections into the areas targeted for rejuvenation with a fine diamond-cut needle. The target areas can be numbed with a topical anesthetic to minimize discomfort.
Like BOTOX® Cosmetic, Xeomin® is composed of a highly diluted form of botulinum neurotoxin type A. The solution works to temporarily relax muscles in the treatment areas, preventing them from contracting and forming wrinkles. The results of Xeomin® can last up to four months, and they can be maintained for much longer periods with occasional follow-up treatments.
