Ultherapy

Over time, the effects of lifestyle choices, heredity, and various environmental factors often lead to the development of skin laxity and/or minor lines and wrinkles in the face and neck region. For men and women interested in addressing these subtle signs of aging through non-surgical means, our board-certified plastic surgeon Stafford Broumand, MD offers Ultherapy®. This non-invasive treatment utilizes ultrasound energy to encourage the growth of new collagen within the skin, ultimately tightening the surface for a smoother, firmer appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Depending on your particular aesthetic concerns, Ultherapy® can be employed to help:

-Improve facial skin laxity.

-Minimize fine facial lines and wrinkles.

-Tighten sagging skin around the jawline (jowls).

-Tighten loose skin of the neck.

-Lift a wilting brow.

-Reduce puffiness around the eyes.

During treatment, the unique Ultherapy® device is gently guided across the targeted region as it directs ultrasonic waves deep into the subcutaneous layers of the skin. This ultrasound energy works to heat foundational tissues at specific depths, leading to the promotion of natural collagen growth within the skin. Once produced, newly developed collagen helps to gradually raise, tighten, and fortify the skin in the treatment area for a rejuvenated, revitalized aesthetic. The entire Ultherapy® procedure generally takes anywhere from 15 minutes to one hour to complete, depending on the number of areas being addressed.

As a non-invasive procedure, there is typically little to no downtime following Ultherapy®, though some degree of redness and/or swelling may be present in the targeted region. These temporary side effects should be dissipate relatively quickly, and most individuals are able to resume their normal daily activities immediately after treatment. The skin tightening and rejuvenation results from Ultherapy® tend to improve over the course of about two to three months as new collagen continues to be produced within the skin.
